Taking up from the original Bandcamp release of "War of the Martian Ghosts", these tracks are enhancements of previous tracks of the previous album, with several new tracks that have been never been released in this album, to be intended to be in an avant-garde opera format, which was planned to be structured as a 2 1/2-hour musical/theatrical presentation.

"War of the Martian Ghosts" was inspired by Charles' freeform 1996 synthesizer presentation of that title that was unrehearsed, but saved on a MIDI sequencer, and then, later changed into hard-copy music notation. In 2017, a 10-track original "War of the Martian Ghosts" album added 9 more tracks in addition to the freeform track of that same name when it was released that year.

Now, the avant-garde opera version of "War of the Martian Ghosts" is set to be released around 2024. Charles composed the lyrics, script and the music of this work.

VERSE 1 Oh, that good spaceship is blasting off, It’s taking off From the red-clad Mars. The battered A-I-L platoon Will land on Earth real soon, and treated like stars. Hard to say goodbye to Daniglia, Where they landed for exposure and media After facing all the hell of a dang’rous foe— Yet they carried out their duty, fighting toe-to-toe. VERSE 2 Hope for no further wars to fight; They took the bite From the Martian Ghosts. But Dregger is now put to death, As bad as crystal meth; Forever he was toast! If they come again to Daniglia, They will be just like an encyclopedia--- They will fight much better and score some kills that count, And achieve a happy place upon that vict’ry mount! THE BRIDGE Hard to see it go--- Sad to see it go---- But we have to know……. There will be good… Out of all this parting when the party is comin’ for them as they land the way it should! Yes, they fought a good fight, Tested their might, Now they have light For the party tonight, Because it’s over, it’s all over, it’s all over, it’s all over, and all is right!

CELEBRATION SCENE This scene happens at the AIL Base as we have seen before in the opening of the opera. As lights go on and music starts, we see on SL a ramp from the spaceship Viola, and on SR and SC, an awaiting team of celebrants, which include friends, and even family members, of the crew, with one of them with an air horn. (The celebration music goes under.) As Capt. Plenn, Pvt. Leene, and a few of the AIL reinformcement soldiers go out of the ramp on stage, the air horn is blasted, and the other people throw confetti at the disembarking soldiers. They hug and embrace each other. Viola Pilot 1, Viola Pilot 2, Mission Control 1, and Mission Control 2 personnel come in moments later onto the stage also from SR, and then they embrace the surviving soldiers in return. Finally, the Red Planet Assistants (approaching from SR also) approach the soldiers, with the assistants having lei-shaped garlands. RED PLANET ASSISTANT 1 (approaching to Capt. Plenn): – Glad you made it back, all of you fighters! For your courageous duty in the battle of Daniglia, we all give you garlands to put over your necks as a token of your honor and your bravery. (The Assistants then put these garlands on the soldiers’ necks one by one, and after the last soldier has the garland on, the Assistants help them to form a line. The celebrants then do a big round of applause and cheers for them.) Capt. Plenn then invites the soldiers to be in a victory circle, and then, they interlink arm-in-arm, and then raise their hands in the air—and down again 3 times, each of them doing a shout “Yeah!”. Then then break arms, allow Capt. Plenn into the center of the circle, and then, with help from the other soldiers, they do a group lift to catapult Capt. Plenn in the air (she screams in ecstasy as she is launched in the air), and then, as Capt. is about to land towards the ground, they group-catch Plenn (as if this was a bit of a cheerleading stunt)—a safety catch, and they all exclaim at Plenn—“A-I-L! A-I-L! A-I-L! WE HAVE WON!” (Underscore music comes to a conclusion here.)

OPENING SCENE (for “War of the Martian Ghosts”) At a remote desert area, just near Area 51. On one side, there is a fence with a sign saying “AREA 51: FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PROPERTY. RESTRICTED AREA. NO TRESPASSING UNDER PENALTY OF LAW.” On the other side, outside the Area 51 property, are the group of Anti-Invasion League people doing drill training to get ready for combat missions on Mars. They are doing some combat techniques in a group with their broomsticks. Master Drill Sergeant Urder leads these drills. The AILs have their sticks in “order arms’ position. SGT. URDER: Present arms L to R diagonal—Huh! (They bring their sticks in front of each other, in a slant position. SGT. URDER: Overhead Double Horizontal---Huh! (They lift their sticks overhead into a horizontal position with both hands raised.) SGT. URDER: Downward D-Thrust to H-Parry…Huh! (They do a downward thrust first, and then to a frontal defense with their sticks to a horizontal position.) SGT. URDER: Round-Cut L to R and R to L—Huh! (They do a swipe L to R and R to L in an arc, ending with a L to R down-diagonal defense. ) SGT. URDER: Change to L Horizontal Thrust position…Prepare… (They move their sticks with the back of the stick with outside palm upward and the hilt of the stick resting on the top of the near the forearm.) SGT. URDER: O-to-I Circular Cut With Switch to RH. Huh! (They now use the RH to do an outside-to-inside circular horizontal cut (releasing their LHs). SGT. URDER:….And recoil back---Huh! (They now go back to their original position, switching their hands from RH to LH, as before.) SGT. URDER: Now, 360 CCW Circle LH…..Huh! (They then do a full 360 degree spin counterclockwise, with their sticks in place only using the L hand.) SGT. URDER: Now, 360 CW LH….Huh! (They now do a full 360 degree spin clockwise with their sticks, in place, also using the L hand also.) SGT. URDER: Now, we go into combos! Ready! R Out, L Out, Mid-Thrust L Hand. Huh! (They now do a swipe R, swipe L, and then center thrust with their sticks—all with their LH.) SGT. URDER: R Out Switch to RH, L Out Switch to LH, 2-Hand Thrust. Huh! (They now do a R swipe exchanging from LH to RH, a L swipe exchanging from RH to LH, and then, using both hands, RH forward, while also thrusting forward (both hands, with LH behind on stick). SGT. URDER: At ease! (The AILs now assume order arms position with their sticks.) We will now focus on longer combos. Also on my cadence! AILs (all of them, shouting together): Yea! SGT. URDER: This is called Down Strike, R Swing, Change L-R, L Swing R-L. (He does a downward strike with both hands, then a R swipe with RH (releasing LH), and boomeranging to a L swipe (releasing RH to LH hold). Okay? Ready? Go! Count! AILs (all together) – ONE!....TWO!.....THREE!.. (They do the “one” for the downward strike, “two” for the vertical angle parry, and “three” four the thrusting lariat.) SGT. URDER: At ease. (The AILs now assume order arms position with their sticks again.) We will not focus on one form that is a much-longer combo. This is called AIL COMBAT FORM ONE! Almost like a kata but with your stick as well. At my cadence. OPENING SCENE (for “War of the Martian Ghosts”) (CONT.) AILs (all of them, shouting together): Yea! SGT. URDER: Start downward at an angle, with one end of stick on the ground. (The group complies.) With me. SGT. URDER: ONE! (They shout and move LF forward and move sticks to forward thrust position.) SGT. URDER: TWO! (They shout and move RF to R side, assuming squat position and using a two-hand block at chest level with their sticks.) SGT. URDER: THREE! (They shout and step LF back so they are on a foot diagonal LF-to-RF and go into an overhead thrust with both hands.) SGT. URDER: FOUR! (They shout and then, turning ¼ L and closing up RF to LF, they then do a side defense wide to the R with their sticks on RH, going way horizontal away from their body.) SGT. URDER: FIVE! (They shout and now do a downward strike to ground with RH, and immediately afterward into a forward thrust to the groin with both hands on the two movements. No foot movement.) SGT. URDER: SIX! (They shout, and now, turning LF to side, they move their sticks to wide L to horizontal position, switch to R side with their sticks now in wide R in horizonatal position with another shout, and with both hands, they squad and drop their sticks to low horizontal position, to waist level, with their last shout there. SGT. URDER: SEVEN! (They shout and then do a side kick with their R leg with sticks back in recoil position after kick to horizontal level, and then they land the kicking foot forward. SGT. URDER: EIGHT! (They shout and then, they swing their sticks in an horizontal arc R to L and at the same times, they do an elbow strike with their R elbow. No foot movements.) SGT. URDER: NINE! (They do their shout, they throw their sticks like javelins out of their L hands.) At ease. Retrieve your sticks.)

(Underscore music before “Dissonance of Being” begins as celebration starts to wind down a little.) CAPT. PLENN: Well, we got home, this time, and I hope Pvt. Heux gets surgery to get her sight back. VIOLA PILOT 1: I found out that Lt. Floore and Lt. Lamarre died in battle. We will all miss them. VIOLA PILOT 2: But I heard that Lt. Leene survived the fighting, and you, Captain. (Both Viola Pilots hug Lt. Leene and Capt. Pleen; meanwhile, Mission Control and Nevada Control people (without the auxillary personnel this time), look at each other. MISSION CONTROL 1: Well, this may not be Apollo 11, but at least, not all of the AILs are dead. MISSION CONTROL 2: I hope those who endured all this are ready to face death again…as well as war. NEVADA CONTROL 1: Yes, it was a great mission, but I heard that there were losses. NEVADA CONTROL 2: Yea, Mars can be ajungle, but if you can survive that space jungle---you can survive any non-Earth planet! Peace or wartime.

Stars also could mean that martians loom out in space, so we must be careful now. Stars also could mean that martians loom out in space, so we must be careful now. So for right now, under the stars: dance!
